Monthly Guided Tours of the Preservation Center

Monthly Guided Tours of the Preservation Center

About this event

Library and Archives Canada’s Preservation Centre in Gatineau, Quebec, is opening its doors to the public. Explore behind the scenes on one of our guided tours, offered once a month beginning in October 2026.

Opened in 1997, this architectural gem features secure vaults designed to protect archival materials. It also houses laboratories where our specialists digitize documents and carry out a variety of conservation treatments.

During the approximately 70-minute tour, you'll explore areas normally closed to the public, discover works by Canadian artists, and learn how our specialists work every day to preserve Canada's documentary heritage. It's a unique behind-the-scenes look at how we safeguard the records entrusted to our care.

Space is limited, so be sure to register.
