Art from the Archives : Zine Making
About this event
In August, we invite you to celebrate Pride in the capital! To mark the occasion, dive into creating a zine with the team from Library and Archives Canada (LAC). You’ll have access to tools that will appeal to all experience levels.
Participants are also encouraged to bring along drafts or works in progress to continue developing them during the workshop.
Admission
Free admission: registration is required.
The workshop will be held in English and French at the times indicated below. Bilingual staff will be on site at all times to assist you. Spaces are limited, so register now!
If registration shows full, you may still come in person to to 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa on the evening of the workshop. Spots may become available at the last minute due to cancellations.
What is the Art from the Archives series?
Designed to spark your creativity, this series invites you to explore the lesser-known artworks from the collections preserved at LAC. Each workshop begins with a brief presentation of selected artworks and archives, followed by a creative activity led by a local artist. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary!
Sessions
Parking
Limited free parking is available on week days after 6 p.m. at 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa, on the west side of the building. Parking meters and public parking lots can also be found on the surrounding streets.
Bike racks are also available in front of the building.
Several OC Transpo and Société de transport de l’Outaouais bus routes serve stops located near 395 Wellington Street.
