This summer, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is a stop you won’t want to miss while touring the city!

Every Wednesday, from July 8 to August 19, 2026, come enjoy the Creative Space at LAC and take part in artistic and literary activities at your own pace.

What is the Creative Space at LAC?

The Creative Space is open to everyone and located in the Alfred Pellan Room at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa, Ontario. Settle in and explore, experiment and create at your own pace with the help of a variety of creative and literary prompts.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bilingual staff will be on hand to welcome and inspire you.

Upon arrival, please check in at the security desk. Staff will direct you to the Alfred Pellan Room on the second floor.

Free admission; no registration required  

Sessions

Parking

Paid parking spaces are available at 395 Wellington Street, on the west side of the building. Parking meters and public parking lots can also be found on the surrounding streets.

Bike racks are also available in front of the building.

Several OC Transpo and Société de transport de l’Outaouais bus routes serve stops located near 395 Wellington Street.
